"After Talks With Afghan Leader, U.S. Military to Expedite Shift to Support Role" (Part-2) PBS Newshour 1/11/2013

Excerpt

SUMMARY:  In talks between President Obama and Afghan President Karzai, there was discussion of moving up the end of combat missions for the U.S. military and the issue of immunity for American troops. Jeffrey Brown gets assessments from former State Department official Peter Tomsen and Said Jawad, former Afghan ambassador.

COMMENT:  Not only is our (U.S.) accelerated withdrawal good news, but it is also good that President Hamid Karzai plans to 'retire' next year. He is an impediment to good Afghan government.  Now we only have to worry about who his successor will be.
