POLITICS - Super-Conservative Mindset

At first I though about NOT posting this, but later realized this is an example of Limbaugh's super-conservative mindset.

"Rush Limbaugh Attacks 'The Left' Over Gabrielle Giffords Shooting Response" ABC News The Note 1/11/2011

Rush Limbaugh criticizes the response of the Democratic Party and the media to the Tucson tragedy in his radio show today, saying that the event has been used to advance the Left’s political interests.

“The left, including the media, cannot accept the reality of a madman slaughtering innocent people. It cannot be ‘individual responsibility’ -- they reject that concept anyway,” Limbaugh said.

He goes on to say that “the Left” believes that Utopia can happen and therefore “cannot deal with anything in reality that demonstrates that Utopia cannot exist.”

Limbaugh contrasted the Left’s response to his perspective on how conservatives view the event.

“We see the reality that Utopia cannot exist and our thoughts and emotions focus on the events, we do not seek to find a deeper meaning to it, we are about truth, which is why we look specifically at evidence and facts,” Limbaugh said. “We don’t look at dreams, we, conservatives, pursue the truth.”

Limbaugh turned to a note from a friend in suggesting that the media would not be focusing as much on Congresswoman Gifford’s condition if she were a Republican.

“Let’s say that the dead individual happened to be a Democrat Judge, and the wounded individual is a Republican Member of Congress,” Limbaugh said. “Who do you think the media would be focused on in that incident? It’s a rhetorical question, but we have the answer to it.”

Limbaugh also responds to speculations that Loughner acted on political motivations, distancing the conservative movement from having played a role in contributing to Loughner’s mental state.

“This guy’s been on the Sheriff’s radar since 2007, long before Sarah Palin was nominated to run with McCain and long before there was a tea party,” Limbaugh said.

Limbaugh called Pima County Sheriff Clarence Dupnik, who criticized Limbaugh in an interview with Diane Sawyer yesterday, an "embarrassment."

“[Dupnik is] lashing out at me to hide all the opportunities his department has had to put this guy away,” Limbaugh said.

Lets see, demonstrated super-conservative mindset:
  • We should NOT aim for Utopian ideals nor dreams. (like Christian ideals/dreams maybe)

  • The Democratic Party was blaming conservatives/Republicans. (NOT promotion of violence)

  • Actually believes that if a Republican had been shot the media would not be as focused? (that's a stretch)

  • Finally, the impaction that conservatism and Republicans are saintly and faultless. (don't laugh too hard)

I hate the kind of feeling stirred up by promotion or propaganda.
