SUMMARY: After a trial lasting nearly three months, the Mexican drug lord Joaquin Guzman, more widely known as “El Chapo,” was convicted Tuesday and now faces the possibility of life in prison. Prosecutors said that during Guzman's reign, the Sinaloa Cartel became the largest and most prolific drug-trafficking operation in the world.
