Excerpt from transcript

JEFFREY BROWN (Newshour): As for today's town hall, some of the president's political opponents took advantage of the publicity to tweet their own challenges.

House Speaker John Boehner wrote: "After embarking on a record spending binge that's left us deeper in debt, where are the jobs?"

The president, of course, had a ready answer.

BARACK OBAMA: Obviously John is the Speaker of the House, he's a Republican, and so this is a slightly skewed question.

(LAUGHTER)

BARACK OBAMA: But what he's right about is that we have not seen fast enough job growth relative to the need.

President Obama's answer was correct, but far from what the American people NEED to hear.

The full truth is, many jobs are NEVER going to come back, and job growth will take a very, very long time no matter who's in the Whitehouse.

In my opinion, if Republicans are put back in charge (as they were 2000 - 2008) America will be in worst shape. It's Republican policies that brought our economy to its knees, putting the job market on life support.
