Note the date of this roundtable discussion, things have changed.
The regime has tried to shut down Aljazeera, but they just moved their facilities out of Egypt proper. And they cannot effect Aljazeera broadcasts throughout the rest of the Muslim world.
The regime has shut down the Internet in Egypt, but the tech-savvy protesters have ways around that.
The military has stated they will NOT intervene with protesters, and haven't... as of now.
But the regime has brought in proxy supporters to attack protesters.
What I see, is a regime in its last throws, which makes them dangerous. We will have to take the wait-and-see approach, and hope for the best.
