PBS Newshour 12/31/2010
How do I see 2010? Some quotes from the transcript:
MICHAEL GERSON, The Washington Post: "I think it was a year of impatience."
JEFFREY BROWN (Newshour): Were they right to be impatient?
MICHAEL GERSON: Well, I think so.
First, I do agree with the "year of impatience" evaluation, but TOTALLY DISAGREE with the evaluation "were they right to be impatient."
Sorry my fellow Americans, you live in a REAL WORLD were many, many things cannot be done quickly. Fixing our economy, especially job recovery, is just one of them.
ONE - When our economy is in a hole that was dug for 8yrs of Republican rule, there is NO WAY anyone can dig our economy out in just 2yrs.
TWO - When you have a bad economy, jobs are ALWAYS the last to recover.
To blame ANY party for a slow recovery is NOT being realistic. Putting the party that dug our 8yr economic hole back in power is being blind and dangerous.
